Aaesha Al Nuaimi


Dr. Aisha is currently the Executive Director of the Innovation Center of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority at the Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Energy Complex. She obtained her master’s degree in 2013, and soon after, she obtained her PhD in 2017 in Microsystems Engineering from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology. She focused her research during her master's and doctorate on the use of nanotechnology to develop solar cells and raise their efficiency. During her studies, she worked as a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering, and in 2012, she gained experience from her work at Global Foundries factories, which is the second largest semiconductor factory in the world. In 2012, she was awarded the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Academic Excellence and in 2013 she received the Emirati Researcher Award presented by the National Research Foundation; In recognition of her outstanding research on photovoltaic solar cells, the Sheikh Rashid Award for Scientific Excellence was included in the year 2017. For her PhD research on graphene and silicon solar cells and the Emirates Award for Postgraduate Studies in Energy in 2018.
